1. Grab your card. You will need some card info to activate it.
2. Go to Kohls.capitalone.com to get started. You may need to provide some personal information, including your date of birth and Social Security number for security purposes.
3. Set up your account. You will need a Capital One account to activate your card online. You can sign in to your existing account or create one.
4. Follow the prompts. Once you are signed in, follow the prompts to activate your card.

Or you can activate by phone by calling 888-249-3787. Once you activate your new card, be sure to destroy any old cards.

You will still earn 7.5% in rewards at Kohl’s, but you will also earn 3% in rewards on gas, 2% at grocery stores and 1% on purchases everywhere else Visa is accepted. There may be other changes to your account as well. Please refer to your Change in Terms, which you received in the mail, for details about changes to your account.

Even if you had previously set up an online account with Kohls.com, you will need to enroll in online servicing with Capital One at Kohls.capitalone.com in order to manage your account online. Please note that your date of birth and Social Security number will be required to sign up. If you are already a Capital One customer, you can use your existing Capital One username and password to sign in and add your Kohl’s Rewards® Visa to your existing account. This will allow you to view all your Capital One accounts at once.

Once signed in, you can enroll in paperless statements, customized alerts and other features. Plus, your online account with Capital One features digital tools and security benefits to help you keep your account safe.

If you did not receive a new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa and you were expecting one, please call Capital One at 888-647-1712. If you were deemed no longer eligible for the Kohl’s Rewards Visa as of June 22, 2023, the changes described on this page do not apply. You will receive a communication if this occurs.

The Kohl’s Rewards® Visa is not reported as a new account, and your account open date should appear as the same date originally reported on your credit file. The information previously reported to the credit bureaus is updated with the Capital One name, and the credit bureaus will continue to receive updates based on your ongoing account performance.

The Kohl’s Rewards® Visa may have an impact on your credit score, and such impact may be either positive or negative. Credit scores take into account a variety of factors, which can include the type of credit card account you have (such as a co-brand card) but many other factors as well, including your payment history, other credit accounts you may have, your outstanding balances versus total available credit, length of credit history, etc. Moreover, there are several different credit scoring models (such as FICO, VantageScore and others), and they each will evaluate Kohl’s Rewards® Visa and other factors differently, resulting in different impacts to your credit scores. To find out more about your credit score, you can contact any of the three major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian). Please note that Capital One will typically continue to send updates to the credit bureaus based on your ongoing account performance as we have done in the past.

No, at this time, we have only issued the Kohl’s Rewards® Visa to a select group of cardholders.

Yes, you can opt out of marketing emails from Capital One. However, opting out of Capital One marketing emails will not affect whether or not you receive marketing emails from Kohl’s and Kohl’s Rewards.

Yes. After you activate your new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa, your new card can be added to digital wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. If you had previously added your Kohl’s Card to Apple Pay, you will need to update it to your new card.

If you previously had your Kohl’s Card added to your Kohl’s Wallet, it should have automatically updated with your new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa information and is ready to make online purchases. However, please make sure to activate your new card to make any in store purchases.

No, if you have unlocked MVC status, you will retain it and its included benefits. Status resets every calendar year. MVC status is earned with $600 in spend on the Kohl’s Card and/or Kohl’s Rewards® Visa at Kohl’s stores and Kohls.com within a calendar year (January 1–December 31). Spending outside of Kohl’s with the Kohl’s Rewards® Visa will earn rewards, but not contribute toward MVC status.

Yes, your Kohl’s Rewards Visa has a new card number, expiration date and security code. New Authorized User cards for each Authorized User were also mailed to the primary account holder. Each Authorized User card has a unique 16-digit card number different from that of the primary account holder. Activate your new card to begin using it. You can also link your new card to Apple Pay®, Google Pay and/or Samsung Pay. Please note, if you previously had your Kohl’s Card in Apple Pay, you need to set that up again with your new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa.

Yes, a Kohl’s team member can look up your Kohl’s Rewards® Visa account to allow a transaction to go through or to make an in store payment, which may be accepted as a courtesy. Any other account information, however, is not available.

No, your Kohl’s Rewards balance is still converted and issued in $5 Kohl’s Cash increments on the first day of the following month, valid for 30 days, without interruption. Any current, valid Kohl’s Cash you have can be redeemed at Kohl’s and at Kohls.com.

Yes. As a loyalty member, you still earn 5% in Kohl’s Rewards on purchases made at Kohl’s and at Kohls.com.

Right now! Activate your new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa and begin using it to continue earning 7.5% in rewards at Kohl’s. Your first Capital One statements will arrive beginning in July, depending on your statement schedule. Any Authorized User activity is now included on a single statement with the combined balance of the primary account holder and all Authorized Users on the account.

Unfortunately, your paperless settings did not transfer to your new account. You can set up your new online servicing with Capital One and re-enroll in paperless statements.

Balance transfers are a feature that may be added to your Kohl’s Rewards® Visa in the future. At this time, however, balance transfers are not an option.

Yes, any one-time payments scheduled in the old online servicing system after June 22 were canceled. If you would like to make an online payment in the Capital One online servicing system, you will need to enroll at Kohls.capitalone.com. Once you are enrolled, you can make and schedule payments online. You can also set up your account preferences, such as paperless statements and automatic payments.

There have been a few payment-related changes: Payment cutoff time: Payments made by mobile, online or over the phone by 8 p.m. ET, Monday–Saturday, will be credited to your account on the same day. Mail payments received by 5 p.m. local time at our processing center will be credited to your account on the same day. Payments made on a Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Day may not be credited on the same day. However, if your payment due date falls on a Sunday or one of these holidays, then payments made on that date will be credited as of that date. Payments in any other form may not be credited as of the day we receive them. Online: You can make online payments through Capital One’s website or mobile app. Mail: Your statements have a new design and a new payment address. Your mailed statement will include a pre-addressed envelope for your payment. Send all payments to Capital One at the address printed on your statement. Phone: The servicing phone number has changed, along with some changes to the menu options. Please use the number on the back of your card. In Store: Payments made at Kohl’s stores may be accepted as a courtesy. Payments may not be credited the same day they are received.

If you had set up automatic monthly payments to pay balances on your card in the old online servicing system, those settings and scheduled payments should have transferred to your new Capital One account. A letter was sent in the mail explaining the specifics. However, if for any reason your automatic payments did not transfer, you will receive a separate email and letter in the mail informing you.

If you are the primary account holder and your Kohl’s Card information was previously stored in your Kohl’s Wallet at Kohls.com, your account has automatically updated to your new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa and is ready to make online purchases. Authorized Users on the account, however, need to update Kohls.com with all card information.

Some of your settings, like automatic payments and your payment bank information (if you have made an online payment in the past), should have transferred. However, other settings, such as paperless statements, did not transfer, so you will have to set them up again when you enroll in the Capital One online servicing site.

Once enrolled, you will be able to relink your account to Kohls.com to see your balance and make payments to your Kohl’s Rewards® Visa. If you have Authorized Users on your account, they will no longer be able to manage the account at Kohls.com.
